Sunset Eye Makeup
A blended sunset across the lid, from yellow at the inner corner through orange and pink to magenta at the outer edge, with a peach glow and a glossy lip.
When to wear it
Wear it to a summer festival, a beach party or a holiday dinner when you want colour across the whole lid. It is for you if you enjoy blending and like warm shades. The pictures show it on tan skin with downturned brown eyes, on medium skin with a round face and on hooded blue eyes.
Shades
- Inner eyebright yellow
- Lidorange
- Cornermagenta-purple
- Lipsglossy peach-nude
How it's done
A satin base with warm bronzer, a peach-orange blush swept up toward the temples and a golden highlight on the cheekbones. Brows brushed up and filled. A gradient across the lid like a sunset: bright yellow at the inner corner, orange across the centre, a warm pinky-red toward the outer corner and a deep magenta-purple in the outer crease, each colour blended into the next with no hard lines. The same orange and magenta smudged along the lower lash line. Gold shimmer pressed onto the centre of the lid. A thin black liner with a small flick and black mascara. Lips in a glossy peach-nude.
Questions
- How do I blend a sunset eye without muddy patches?
- Lay the colours side by side in order, yellow, orange, pinky-red, then magenta in the outer crease. Blend only where two shades meet, with a clean brush for each join, so the yellow never touches the purple.
- What goes with such a bright eye?
- Keep the rest of the face warm and simple. This look uses warm bronzer, a peach-orange blush swept toward the temples, a thin black flick and a glossy peach-nude lip.
