Party and birthday makeup looks

These are our looks for a night out, a birthday or any party with a camera in the room. Some put everything into the eyes, like the charcoal-brown Classic Smokey Eye. Others lead with the lips, like the true blue-red of Classic Red Lip or the dark brown liner around a nude gloss in Latina Glam. Full Glam turns everything up at once.

Each look comes with pictures on several faces and a list of its shades. Pick the two you like most and try both on your selfie. You get 3 free try-ons, and the result keeps your face and skin as they are with only the makeup added.

Party makeup tips

  • Pick one part of the face to lead. Classic Smokey Eye pairs a dark eye with a quiet nude-rose lip, and Classic Red Lip pairs a bold lip with a thin wing and a plain brown crease.
  • For flash photos, set the base well. Full Glam bakes powder under the eyes, and Latina Glam calls for a matte base that is well set before the contour goes on.
  • On a smokey eye or a cut crease, do the eyes before the base. Dark shadow falls onto the cheeks, and you can wipe it off before any foundation is there.
  • Carry your lip liner and lipstick. A red lip or an overlined nude needs a touch-up after drinks, and the liner puts the sharp edge back.
  • Want a party look without dark shadow? Douyin Makeup uses pink-peach on the lid, fine pink glitter, painted freckles and a blurred rose lip.

Questions

What is the difference between a smokey eye and a cut crease?
A smokey eye blends dark charcoal-brown up past the crease to a soft, diffused edge. A cut crease draws a crisp line instead, carving the lid with concealer and filling it with champagne shimmer.
Which party look is the quickest?
Classic Red Lip. The eyes stay simple, with a neutral brown crease, a thin black wing and mascara, and most of your time goes into lining the lips.
Which party looks are shown with glasses?
Old Hollywood Glam and Classic Red Lip each have a picture on a woman in her late 50s with fine lines and glasses. Take your selfie with your glasses on to see the wing and the red lip next to your frames.
