Igari Makeup

The Japanese 'hangover' look: rosy blush placed high under the eyes and over the nose, a pink wash on the lids, dewy skin and a blurred red-tinted lip.

When to wear it

Wear it on a weekday, to a café or on a cold winter day, when you want a flushed, just-woken look instead of contour. It is for you if you like dewy skin, soft straight brows and no wing. The pictures show it on monolid eyes, on olive skin with almond eyes and on tan skin.

Shades

  1. Cheekrosy, under the eyes
  2. Lidsheer pink-coral
  3. Inner eyepale shimmer
  4. Lipsblurred red tint

How it's done

A dewy, light base with a glossy sheen on the cheekbones. A rosy pink-red cream blush placed high, just under the eyes, blended across the upper cheeks and over the bridge of the nose, with a little on the tip of the nose. Brows soft and straight in a light brown. A sheer pink-coral shadow across the lid and a touch of the same blush along the lower lash line. A pale shimmer in the inner corners. A thin brown liner tight to the upper lashes with no wing. Lashes curled with brown mascara. A glossy red-tinted lip, deepest at the centre and blurred at the edges.

Questions

Where does igari blush go?
Higher than usual, right under the eyes. Tap a rosy pink-red cream blush across the upper cheeks and over the bridge of the nose, add a little to the tip of the nose, and brush a touch along the lower lash line.
How is igari makeup different from Douyin makeup?
Both put rosy blush across the nose. Igari keeps the eye soft, with a sheer pink-coral wash, a thin brown liner and no wing. Douyin goes further, with glitter on the lid, painted freckles and a black wing that lifts at the end.
