Clown Makeup
A happy clown in face paint: a red nose dot, round pink cheeks, a painted smile, little blue diamonds around the eyes and bright lids. Cheerful, never creepy.
When to wear it
Wear it to a Halloween party, a circus-themed birthday or a festival, when you want a cute costume face that nobody will find scary. It is for you if you want colour and nothing dark. The pictures show it on a round face with brown eyes, on monolid eyes and on tan skin with downturned brown eyes.
Shades
- Facewhite face paint
- Nosered dot
- Cheekround bright pink
- Eyesblue diamonds
How it's done
Playful, not scary. White cream face paint in a rounded patch around the mouth and in a soft oval over each lid up to the brow. Bright red cream face paint in a round dot on the tip of the nose. Round, bright pink blush circles on the apples of the cheeks. A bright red lip painted into a wide, upturned smile that curves a little past the corners of the mouth, outlined in thin black. A small blue diamond painted above and below each eye, outlined in black. Yellow and blue shimmer on the lids inside the white. Black mascara and a few small painted freckles across the nose.
Questions
- How do I paint a clown smile?
- Start with a rounded patch of white cream paint around the mouth. Paint the lips bright red, carrying the colour a little past each corner in an upward curve, and outline the smile in thin black.
- How do I keep clown makeup cute, not creepy?
- Keep the shapes round and the colours bright. Pink blush circles, a red dot on the nose, small blue diamonds above and below each eye and a few painted freckles look friendly. Leave out dark shading and sharp teeth.
