Halloween ยท Scarecrow
Scarecrow Makeup
A friendly scarecrow in face paint: round orange cheeks, painted freckles, a little triangle nose, stitch lines at the corners of the mouth and a patched cheek.
When to wear it
Wear it to a Halloween party, a harvest festival or a last-minute costume night with a flannel shirt and dungarees. It is for you if you want a friendly face that takes little skill to paint. The pictures show it on a round face, on tan skin and on a woman in her 60s with glasses.

How it's done
A rosy orange cream blush in a round circle on the apples of the cheeks, and warm brown cream face paint shading the hollows under the cheekbones and the temples. Brown freckles painted across the nose and cheeks. The tip of the nose painted in a small dark brown triangle. Black stitch lines drawn from each corner of the mouth out onto the cheeks: a short line with small crossing stitches. A small square patch painted on one cheek in warm orange-brown face paint, edged with black stitch marks. A warm brown and orange shadow on the lids, smudged under the lower lashes, and brown mascara. Lips in a matte warm brick-red.
Questions
- How do I draw scarecrow stitches?
- Draw a short black line out from each corner of the mouth onto the cheek with a liquid liner or a black face paint pencil, and cross it with small stitches. Add the same stitch marks around the edge of the painted patch.
- Is scarecrow makeup easy for a beginner?
- Yes. The cheeks are circles of orange blush, the freckles are dots and the nose is a small brown triangle. The only careful work is the black stitching, and short strokes are easy to keep straight.
