Vampire Makeup
An elegant, shadowed vampire: cheeks hollowed with cool contour, a deep red smoky eye, a sharp black wing and a matte black-cherry lip.
When to wear it
Wear it to a Halloween party, a gothic-themed night or any costume event where you want to look elegant rather than scary. It is for you if you like a dark lip and red shadow. The pictures show it on fair skin with hooded blue eyes, on deep skin and on olive skin with almond eyes.

How it's done
A matte, well-powdered base with a cool grey-mauve contour under the cheekbones, on the temples and in the eye sockets for a hollow, shadowed look. No blush. Brows sharp and defined in a dark brown. A deep red-burgundy shadow blended around the whole eye, darkest at the outer corner, and a black smoky shadow pressed close to the upper lash line. A deep red pencil along the lower lash line. A sharp black wing and full black lashes. Lips in a matte black-cherry lipstick, sharply lined.
Questions
- How do I get the hollow vampire cheeks?
- Blend a cool grey-mauve contour into the hollows under the cheekbones, the temples and the eye sockets, over a matte base. Skip blush. The cool shade looks like shadow, where a warm bronzer would look like a tan.
- Can I do vampire makeup without blood?
- Yes, and this look has none. The drama comes from the deep red-burgundy shadow around the eye, the red pencil under the lower lashes and the sharply lined black-cherry lip.
