Skeleton Makeup

A clean skull in face paint: white over the face, black rounded sockets around the eyes, a heart-shaped nose and painted teeth from cheek to cheek.

When to wear it

Wear it to a Halloween party or a costume night where you want a clean, graphic skull rather than anything gory. It is for you if you are happy painting with a small brush. The pictures show it on tan skin, on monolid eyes and on medium skin with hazel eyes.

Shades

  1. Facewhite face paint
  2. Eyesblack round sockets
  3. Cheekgrey-black shading
  4. Noseblack heart

How it's done

White cream face paint over the forehead, cheeks, nose, chin and jaw, set with a white powder. Black cream face paint in large round shapes around each eye, covering the lid up to the brow and the area just under the eye, softened at the edges into grey. The tip of the nose painted black in an upside-down heart. Grey-black face paint shading the hollows under the cheekbones and the temples. Painted teeth: the lips covered in white blocks outlined in thin black lines, and a thin black line drawn from each corner of the mouth out across the cheek, crossed with short vertical lines. Black mascara.

Questions

How do I paint skeleton teeth?
Cover the lips in white face paint and draw thin black vertical lines across them to make blocks. Then draw a black line from each corner of the mouth out across the cheek and cross it with short vertical strokes.
How do I stop white face paint from cracking?
Apply the white cream paint in thin layers with a damp sponge, letting each one dry before the next, then set it with a white powder. One thick layer cracks when you smile or talk.
