Y2K Makeup

The early 2000s: frosted icy-blue lids, a pearly highlight everywhere, little rhinestones under the eyes and a very glossy pale pink lip.

When to wear it

Wear it to a 2000s party, a birthday or a night out in a velour jacket or a slip dress. It is for you if you like frosted shadow and a lot of lip gloss. The pictures show it on fair skin with red hair, on a round face and on tan skin with downturned brown eyes.

Shades

  1. Lidfrosted icy blue
  2. Inner eyefrosty white
  3. Gemssilver rhinestones
  4. Lipsglossy pale pink

How it's done

A light, dewy base with a pearly shimmer highlighter on the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose and the cupid's bow, and a soft pink blush. Brows brushed and lightly filled. A frosted icy-blue shimmer across the whole lid up to the crease, and a frosty white in the inner corners and on the brow bone. A thin black liner tight to the upper lashes with a tiny flick. Small silver rhinestones placed under the outer corners of the eyes and fine silver glitter on the cheekbones. Black mascara. Lips in a very glossy pale pink gloss over a frosted pink liner.

Questions

How is Y2K makeup different from 90s makeup?
Y2K is shiny and pale. It uses frosted icy-blue lids, a pearly highlight and a glossy pale pink lip. Our 90s look is matte and brown, with a dark brown lip liner and a blotted cinnamon lipstick.
Where do the rhinestones go?
A few small silver stones sit just under the outer corners of the eyes, with fine silver glitter on the cheekbones. Stick them on with lash glue once the rest of the makeup is done.
